CJ Stroud sends a terrifying message to the rest of the college football players

Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud has already notified college football with his latest ordinance heading into the 2022 season.

The 2022 college football season is weeks away from kick-off, and one of the teams expected to compete for the CFP National Championship is the Ohio State Buckeyes. They have support from the AP’s pre-season Top 25 list, where they are ranked number two in the entire nation.

Ohio State will see CJ Stroud starting with the quarterback, who impressed football fans with his play. If you thought there was no way Stroud could have improved, the third year signal caller revealed that he was the fastest of all.

“I feel the best I’ve ever felt in my life,” Stroud said, H/R Stephen Maines from Cleveland.com. “I (hit my personal record) squat. I was working on the bench. While running, I forgot the miles, but I was doing it. I’m the fastest since I’ve been alive.”

Ohio State Football: CJ Stroud says he’s getting faster and stronger

That’s certainly terrifying for the opposing defenses that will be playing against Ohio State this season. The thing is, Stroud rarely ran in his two seasons with the Buckeyes. Specifically, he ran for a total of 28 yards and one touchdown in 33 attempts.

Stroud got the start in 2021 after Justin Fields, QB1 of the previous year, announced an NFL draft to eventually be selected by the Chicago Bears. To say Stroud made an immediate impact is an understatement.

During 12 games, Stroud threw 4,133 yards, 44 touchdowns and six interceptions. Perhaps his best game was in the Rose Bowl, where he completed 37 of 46 pass attempts for 573 yards, six touchdowns. And one interception in Ohio State’s thrilling 48-45 win over the Utah Utes. His influence and touchdowns in that game were Pro Bowl records.

Stroud is surrounded by a lot of hype, as he is considered one of the top potential quarterbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft. With another solid season, he could solidify his position as an early pick for the first round.

Ohio opens its season against Notre Dame, ranked fifth in the country by the Associated Press. It will be interesting to see Stroud’s performance against a defense coached by Marcus Freeman.
